  • Day 4 of Weaning

    Time to try some “real food.” But first – I have to talk about me! Since today is a public holiday, I decided to make a batch of pear puree and carrot puree from home instead of in my state-of-the-art industrial baby food kitchen. This reminded me exactly how long it takes to make a batch of baby food at home – I am talking about just one type of the most simple puree you could make.   • 2nd and 3rd days of Weaning

    Day 2 we stuck to our rice just to make sure the solids still suited – and they did. We tried some practically air Millet mixed with milk on Day 3. Millet didn’t seem to make her quite as happy as the rice. I myself always give the food a taste – what good chef wouldn’t? Admittedly, the millet had a distinctly bitter taste to it, despite being mixed with sweetish tasting milk. We will table the millet for a little while!

  • First Day of Weaning Ava

    Our baby Ava has taken like a fish to water with regards to solids. She definitely gets that from my side of the family – we come from a long line of bakers, pasta makers, and tomato sauce connoisseurs.
